It's big, it's brash and it's the NEW Heavy Duty Couplemate Guide Wing.
The Off-road Trailer Guide and Lock fit the Poly Block Off-road Coupler.
Can also be used to with other types of couplers.
Suitable to align for trailers up to 8800lbs directly over the tow ball.
Fits tow ball shanks to 1" however can accept tow balls to 1 1/4" when the hole is widened.
We recommend the base can be filed out to 1 1/4" to accept all 1 1/4" Tow Balls.
When used vertically with Off-road coupler, the trailer guide helps prevent accidental disconnection.
How to Use: Select the right height so the coupler will make contact with the removeable wings then
simply back your vehicle to within 1 meter. Check vehicle and coupling are aligned then back car into
Offroad Coupler to align directly over the pin.

Under normal driving conditions Couplers pull straight and true however, driving off road can be tricky and even dangerous when using Standard Trailer Equipment. Most of the popular North American trailer couplers are not suited to extreme conditions and limits a families camping experience. In the past, these remote locations have been almost impossible to visit. The Couplemate Off-Road coupling has 360 degrees of Rotation and 70 degrees of Vertical Oscillation permitting access to extreme camping
locations. Families just love towing their trailer through rough conditions to camp in those locations that cannot normally be accessed. Couplemate has manufactured a rather simple pintle hitch to ELIMINATE excessive wear around the tow ball.CM532bm_


Note: Wear occurs with conventional combination pintle hitches.


2" Tow Ball rated at 6600lbs. Hook fits 3" Ring Hitch. Retaining lever snaps closed under tension and pin for safety. Safety is the largest issue concerning Pintle hooks and receivers.

Producing a product that could hurt someone concerns me greatly. My job as President of Couplemate Trailer Parts is to lead the field with our products by insuring all Couplemate products exceed National Safety Standards. Pintle Hooks have long been regarded as too hard to fix ball wear on Combination Hooks. The problem has never been addressed until now. Combination Hooks have been seen as a compromise product that does not really work with constant ball changes due to excessive wear when the
hook is used in 3" Ring Coupler mode. The image below of ball wear is quite common. Ball wear reduction is not an option. In our opinion, Ball wear must be essentially eliminated.

The above tow ball was removed from a Pintle hook and brought to me. The customer just wanted to replace the ball, get the same wear and replace the ball again and again until something else breaks and maybe hurts someone. The CM532 is now being marketed as the Safest alternative to ALL existing Pintle Hook Couplers on the market today. Towing can safely be undertaken with either a ball or Pintle coupler. The success of this design is in the casting. The ring coupler cannot get close to the ball to
cause wear. The ring pulls on a higher rated surface in the casting and creates no noise from wear or slack. This Pintle Coupler is certain to gain popularity quickly due to its cost saving and safety features.  It's not often a product comes along which is Safer and more Economical to use with No ball replacement.

Funny thing happened when Henry put shock absorbers on all his cars, he sold and sold and sold more cars. Henry sold so many cars that all the world car manufacturers now put shock absorbers on their cars.

Early last century, Henry Ford thought shock absorbers were essential equipment on his cars. Henry could have possibly been quoted as saying “the driver and passengers are the shock absorbers”. Trailers, Recreational Vehicles and Off-Road utility trailers all suffer from vibrations caused by bad or rough road conditions. Road vibrations not only cause excess wear and tear on trailer components but also cause excess wear and tear on household components inside your unit. Wear and tear has quite a visual impact

in normal road conditions. Couplemate Trailer Parts also suggest that without the use of shock absorbers while doing off road trips, your RV or trailer will have a "bouncing" ride, as energy is stored in the spring and then released to the trailer, possibly exceeding the allowed range of spring movement.


To assist with the controlling of excessive suspension movement without shock absorption requires the use of stiffer (higher rate) springs, which would in turn lead a "harsh" ride. By using shock absorbers it will allow the use of soft (lower rate) springs while controlling the rate of suspension movement in response to
bumps. They are designed to dampen the motion of the unsprung weight in a vertical direction. Springs alone are not shock absorbers, as springs only store and do not dissipate or absorb energy.

The science of shock absorption is all too simple. Remove energy created by rough roads by use of a dampener. Dampeners are called Shock Absorbers.
